How to edit a PDF
- Choose your PDF. Its pages appear one below the other.
- Pick a tool from the toolbar and work directly on the page:
- Edit text — click any existing line to change or delete it. It keeps the original size and colour.
- Text — click where new text should go and type. Change size, colour, font and bold in the toolbar.
- White-out — drag a box over anything you want to cover, such as an old date or a wrong amount.
- Highlight — drag over lines you want to mark.
- Draw / sign — write freehand, for example your signature or initials.
- Image — add a logo, stamp or a photo of your signature.
- Use Select to move items, resize boxes and images with the corner handle, or delete them.
- Rotate, reorder or delete pages with the buttons above each page.
- Click Save & download PDF.
Correcting text in a PDF
Choose Edit text and click the line you want to change — a wrong date, amount, name or spelling. The editor reads the original size, colour and style and opens the line for typing, so the correction blends in. Delete all of a line's text to remove it.
PDFs store text as positioned letters rather than paragraphs, so an edited line doesn't re-flow the rest of the paragraph, and the replacement uses the closest standard font (Helvetica, Times or Courier) rather than the document's exact font. For most forms, invoices and letters the difference is hard to spot. Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages and have no editable text; use White-out and Texton those.
Hiding sensitive details properly
When sharing a bank statement, salary slip or Aadhaar copy you may want to hide account numbers or addresses. White-out alone only covers them visually — the original text is still inside the file and can be copied out. Tick Flatten pages before saving: every page is turned into an image, so anything under the white-out is permanently removed. Signing documents
A drawn or pasted signature is fine for everyday paperwork such as rental agreements, consent forms, expense claims and letters. It isn't a digital signature certificate (DSC) — filings on the Income Tax, GST and MCA portals that require a DSC or Aadhaar e-sign must be signed there.
Privacy
The editor runs entirely in your browser: your PDF is opened, edited and saved on your device and is never uploaded. After editing, you can compress the PDF or add page numbers.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the existing text in my PDF?
Yes. Choose Edit text and click any line: it opens with the same size, colour and a matching font (sans, serif or monospace, bold or regular), so you can retype it or delete it. Behind the scenes the original words are covered and the new text is written on top. Scanned PDFs are images, so they have no editable text — use White-out and Text on those.
Does white-out permanently remove the information?
Only if you tick "Flatten pages" when saving. Without it, white-out hides content visually, but the original text is still inside the file and can be copied or found by search. Flattening turns each page into an image so the hidden content is really gone (text is then no longer selectable).
How do I sign a PDF?
Choose Draw / sign and write your signature with your mouse, finger or stylus, or use Image to place a photo of your signature (a PNG with a transparent background looks best). Drag it into place and resize it with the corner handle.
Can I type in Hindi or other Indian languages?
Not yet. The built-in PDF font supports English letters, numbers and common symbols; the editor tells you if your text contains characters it can't write.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened, edited and saved entirely in your browser, so it never leaves your device. Password-protected PDFs need the password removed first.
